The performance is exploring notions of celebration, ‘family of choice’ and the emotions associated with spending Christmas Eve and holidays in or away from the family home. Young artists will explore tradition and try to answer the question of whether the ‘format’ of traditional festivities that has been cultivated for years matches the real needs, but also the sources and purposes of the celebration itself. Defining the concept of the ‘family of choice’ is an essential part of the artistic work. If such a family can emerge, then perhaps a holiday of choice can also emerge. A Christmas that goes back to the core – to the need to come together and spend a special time, without exclusions and stigmatisation.
