The documentary performance by Eliška Brtnická processes testimonies about children’s leisure time in the times of previous generations. It brings back memories of a time when there were minimal cars on the streets and there were hardly any interest groups for children. Perhaps you, too, will remember the forbidden places you climbed or longed to climb as a child. 

Safety is one of the highest values of our time. An extensive system of rules and standards is designed to ensure that “nothing can happen to us”. Is it even possible anymore to just wander around, hang out and hang out: just hang out? Do children still go out on their own nowadays? Safety has become our mantra, but don’t we miss that tingle, that feeling of fear at overcoming our own boundaries that makes us skydive or at least go to the circus?

The production has been nominated for the Thalia Award in the Alternative Theatre category in 2022.
